I have found my Treasure...

Before I was born, I am certain He had this man in mind, just for me.

On July 31st, 2010 I married my best friend, and the most incredible man God has ever blessed me with. I still can't believe he chose me to be his wife and I simply can't wait to spend forever with him.

Before I get to far in describing my fairytale wedding let me give you all a little background. I met Kevin in 2005 after I went on a mission trip with Kevin's sister Ellen.  After Kevin waited patiently for me to grow up and finally "see the light" as he puts it we went on our first date in August of 2009. Kevin took me geochaching and I had such a great day. He was shy, but adorable. Always putting me first and being the perfect gentleman. We hiked almost all day and I remember blushing because as we got back to the car for a break he packed a water bottle and a small snack. It was so thoughtful and incredibly sweet. I hadn't met anyone who better thought of those around him. I didn't know it then, but I was very much hooked.
We continued our relationship through his deployment to Kuwait and on July 2nd, Kevin proposed.

My brother joined the Military a few weeks before KJ proposed and was suppose to leave for Basic on Aug. 3. This left Kevin in and I in a little bit of a dilemma.  Wait over 6 to 7 months to get married, or do it in 4 weeks. We prayed, talked, and thought carefully about our decision but decided that we didn't want to wait. We felt very strongly that the Lord was guiding us to marriage and so we decided that July 31st was the date.

I was terrified, excited, nervous and feeling so many emotions. We were both so excited, but had no clue how to pull off a wedding in 4 weeks.

I will just take this time to add that I have the most amazing Mom, family and friends in the world who pulled together to give Kevin and I all that we had ever dreamed of. My wedding was perfect, and it wasn't because of the flowers, or the food, or the decorations. Though all of those things were AMAZING. It was because God brought together a man and a woman who dedicated their lives to one another!


My sweet and beautiful friend Kayla captured beautiful pictures of my day. Please take a look for yourself and see what God has given me. I don't know everything there is to know about marriage, and maybe I never will. What I do know is that I married my best friend. God has joined together to people and we will treasure one another always. I pray that I can be the helpmate he has always wanted and that throughout this life together I will only grow to be a better wife each day. My heart is full and happy and I feel so blessed and honored to now be his wife.

I have dreamed of this day since I was a little girl, and even with all of that dreaming, I can't imagine God blessing me with a better day. As Kj and I drove away from what seemed like just a minute in time, we couldn't believe how incredibly happy we were. To be man and wife.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"

Joy

It has been a crazy 4 weeks but some I wouldn't trade for anything. Some called us crazy, some called us brilliant but in the end it was exactly what I have always dreamed.

July 31st was like a fairy tale and KJ and I couldn't have asked for a better day.

She came for the day and captured some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. She is not only an amazing woman but her love for photography really showed. God has blessed her with an incredible gift and I couldn't imagine anyone else capturing my big day!

It will all be worth it...

I'm 3 stressful, crazy, long, intense, drama-filled, wonderful, beautiful, hectic, and amazing days away from marrying my best friend.

Then everything will be worth it because he will be my husband.









 

Six Days

I know its been a little while but I didn't have internet while we were in Florida! What a great trip!!! I've spent the last week in FL with my family and KJ came along too.  We went to Disney, soaked up the sun on the beach, saw some sites and celebrated my mom's 40th birthday. My entire family, grandparents and aunt joined in on the vacation. It was a fantastic time and trip before everything in my life changes. My brother leaves for Basic a week from tomorrow and I will be married on Saturday.  This trip allowed us to spend time as a family and make more memories that we will cherish forever!

I must say...My Cannon  and I reached a new level in our relationship as we took over 700 pictures together. =)
I'm pretty sure my love for photography is out of control and I never want to set my camera down. Everywhere I look I feel as though I'm only looking through the lens of my camera as my mind searches for anything and everything that would make a great picture! I'm afraid I won't be going back to little pocket cameras anymore, my Cannon Rebel and I are bonded for life. Just as it should be. =)

I really can't believe the wedding is so close. I"m so excited and words can't even express how much I'm enjoying this time. There are plenty more details to be hammered out but all in all things are pretty much coming together!
Spending this whole week with KJ was so special and made both of us that much more excited to be husband and wife. God is SO good, and His timing is always perfect.

So much.

Crazy. Insane. Hectic. Wonderful. New. Fun. Fast. Change. Excitement. Nervous. Love.

I can't even begin to express everything that I have been feeling over this last week. I only have a minute but let me give you a little update!!

July 2 - ENGAGED! Friday, July 2nd 2010 KJ got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I with no doubt in my mind said YES! I feel like the most blessed girl alive, and can't wait to be his wife, forever.

July 4th-PICKED the Date, July 31st! Because my brother leaves for basic training in the first week of August we decided we were going to go ahead with this and get things rolling. 4 weeks, we had a total of 4 weeks to plan a wedding.

July 6th- Register at TARGET! Wow, how much fun was it to walk around with my fiance figuring out what we would need for our new life together? So MUCH fun!! We had a great time wandering around the kitchen aisle dreaming and gushing over the memories we would soon be making!

July 7th- Invites MAILED! Let me tell you ladies, this was an emotional moment in my life! I mean come on..I mailed out my wedding invitations!! Crazy! Not was the reality of what I was doing intense enough but then this 80 plus year old lady comes over asking me why I was sending out so many letters! I told her it was my wedding invites and she became like a 12 year old all over again. She grabbed my hand to admire my ring, asked about flowers, colors and my dress then proceeded to ask the date. As I told her it was in 4 weeks on the 31st she dropped my hand and as tears filled her eyes she stated.. " The 31st would have been mine and my husbands 70th wedding anniversary, he died almost a year ago". I of course started to cry as complete strangers went in for a warm embrace! We hugged for a few minutes on the sidewalk and I told her I was honored to share her special day! What a beautiful memory I made and one I will never forget!

July 8th-10th.. LIFEST! :) One of the greatest Christian Music Festivals ever.

July 11th- Yard work. I am exhausted. I got home this morning from camping at Lifest around 12pm and didn't waste anytime as my entire family and I began working in the yard in preparation for the big day. We trimmed branches, chipped them then spread mulch around every tree in my yard. I know it will all be worth it but today was a bit overwhelming! I can't believe I am getting married in 3 weeks.


Alright, that is a little update for now. This week will be even crazier as I get more wedding stuff finalized and then my entire family leaves for Florida on Thursday. I am so glad we all get to take this family vacation but I guess its not really coming at the most perfect time! :)

Changes. That is an understatement!  In a few short weeks, I will be a wife. I can't even believe it. My excitement level is through the roof and I can hardly contain myself!

I am mainly writing this post to let you know that I am planning a wedding in a short three weeks so I am going to take a break from blogging. 
My brother leaves for basic on Aug 3 so that is why we are doing the wedding so fast. Not to mention we really can't wait to be husband and wife.

Stay tuned though, pictures and updates will be coming. It just might be slow!
